By far one of the most amusing Warlord gaming experiences took place while I was facing a King Alric deck with my Brymin. The match came down to initiative and I lost so Alric swung at me. As far as I remember he only had two swings so I had a decent chance of surviving. Now, I had a Genecourt Initiate next to me for which I would have to roll the defend check and that would effectively take care of his strikes. The roll is high +15 but I passed it with ease. Yet, guess what happens next? Alric rolls a 1, yes, he crit fails on a Genecourt Initiate and takes his second nasty swing at me which kills me. That situation cracked up both me and Alric’s runner. Probably one of those rarest moments where failing on a swing actually helps you out…

Another funny experience happened during the recent tourney. I was facing one of my friends’ Niobe deck. I had one Ghed Nuri supporting my Yavlo against the front line my friend amassed. First my friend missed 3 swings from a pumped up Barret Yascar and then a few more from another character. Then he missed 4 swings from an Iam. He killed it in the end though and I lost but the situation was very amusing all the same.
“If Rallen is your warlord your deverenians have the ability: spend order performe a range strike with a bonus equal to this characters level. This range strike may not recieve any bonus to the roll.”
It is easy to build a strong Dev. deck when Sir Rallen is your warlord. It is not easy to play against Sir Rallen because his entire army has ranged strike ability.
I would like to gain some knew knowledge on how to combat a warlord like Sir Rallen. I once built a combined item stealing and steath deck that stood a chance but I still lost. The only time I have won against Sir Rallen was when I built a wizard deck.
